When did you first hear the name Darkman and how did you get to see one of the three movies?

Great question! I was 12/13 years old when I first watched the trailers. I suddenly became "hungry" for it. I was totally hooked. I just have "tasted" the trailer, that's all. It was pure magic.

The first place I actually saw anything about Darkman was a parody I read in an issue of cracked magazine I purchased back in 1996 it was called DorkMan, but it didn't make much sense to me because I hadn't seen or even heard of the movie. I didn't see the film till at least four years later on the USA tv network I caught it from about the time Peyton was in his lab being tortured by Durant. About a week or two later I was at the video rental place when in the vhs bargain bin I saw Darkman II: Return of Durant for $1.99 it was cheaper than a rental so I bought it. It was the first Darkman movie I'd seen from the start, and right before it there was a trailer for the vhs release of the original film, plus a quick teaser saying dont miss Darkman III: Die Darkman Die, coming soon! Well I'd already seen the first movie and now the second one so I figured since the vhs I'd just bought was made in 1995 the third movie had to have already been released. It took a while to track down though about a week or so when I finally did find it the jerks at the rental place wouldn't sell it to me, so I rented it. So at that time my collection ranged from a used Darkman II and a bootleged Darkman III. Which brings us to four or five years later tuesday of last week. My friend and I were at Best Buy looking at DVD's on the $5.99 or less rack when my friend asked an employee how to tell the difference between the $5.99 DVD's that still had the original $14.99 price stickers on them and the $14.99 DVD's that were put back in the wrong place. The guy answered and I quote " You can usually tell by the titles of the movie like this one here Darkman this is obviously $5.99". Darkman on DVD for $5.99 I scooped that right up and bought it. Now to get to the point of my story I just watched Darkman in it's entirety last week thursday. The first one was definatly the best but I'd have to say I like them all exept the cracked parody.

The "Who Is Darkman" ad campaign reeled me in.

Hi I'm new here. I went and saw it in the theater with my mom when I was 12, I guess. It was totally cool. Sometimes movies seem less cool than they did when you were a kid, but this isn't one of them. It's still as cool as it was when I was a kid.
I can relate to Darkman very well because I have rather a bad temper myself. I also like Darkman III, but don't watch II because the idea of Durant coming back uninjured from that chopper crash is laughable at best.

I just saw the movie on TV one day. Specifically, starting with the scene where Darkman rigs his hideout to blow up in the same way Durant did his lab at the beginning (although I didn't know this at the time), and I watched from there, enjoying Darkman's midair battle with Durant and the chopperful of goons and finally Darkman vs. Strack at the end. After that I saw a copy of "Darkman II: The Return of Durant" at the store and remembered the movie. Recently for my birthday I went to Best Buy and was unsure of what to buy until I saw they had copies of the DVD, so I bought that (along with "The Beastmaster") and voila, here I am.

I was in the film studio at my school, and the guy I was talking to mentioned Darkman, and how it was a Sam Raimi movie. After that, I looked up the movie on IMDB, then looked up some pictures. Thought what I was seeing was cool. After that I went to Best Buy and bought the movie. Since then its become one of my favorites.

I had the VHS of DM1 as a kid and watched it all the time. Lost it years later and it wasn't until sometime in 2005 when AMC aired the movie that I saw it again and remembered how awesome it was. I bought the DVD of it later that Summer, and the next year acquired both of the sequels on DVD.

Well, I saw parts of Darkman when I was a kid... I think on the Sci-Fi Channel. I definitely remember watching the whole bizarre "Pink Elephant" scene and the sad, angst filled bit that followed it (of course, Peyton's liquid skin mask bubbling, him freaking out and running away to hide his shame from Julie), and I was COMPLETELY in love. I've always been drawn to the weird, the horribly sad, "angsty" type films, and this was right up my alley! I later caught the full movie from beginning to end, and then parts of the sequels as I went through my pre-teens.
