Hey gang, I thought you all would like hearing about this. My friends and I have spent the last 2 years working on a Darkman fanfilm! It's got a lot of humor, but it's all in homage to the original film. The plot centers around Durant rebuilding his criminal empire by taking over the drug trade in the city, while hiring a professional assassin to hunt down Darkman to keep him busy while the deal goes down. Fanfilms.com has expressed interest in it, and when we're close to completion, we'll be sending them a trailer, and then the final film. Here's a shot of our Peyton in makeup:

Okay, I'm registered. I don't know that you'd wanna update day-by-day right now, we're pretty much on hiatus through the holidays.
I was shocked to find this board. Darkman is one of those cult films that everyone knows, but there's nothing about it on the internet. He's an underappreciated character with a ton of unused potential. I'd heard about the TV pilot, but I'd never seen anything from it until I found your site. Thanks for getting ths board and the website going, it's all really cool to finally see something Darkman on the web!

Thanks to you... anyway. You're doing for Peyton much more than me. The cult is growing, and fast, believe me.

With any luck, we'll see the fanfilm the first part of 2006, with the trailer, and maybe a few assorted scenes up on the Internet before Christmas. Right now I have a teaser trailer done, but decided it's better to wait to incorporate more footage into the trailer. As for the film itself, here are the facts: In one form or another, it's actually feature length. The last cut of it that I did was well over 109 minutes. Granted, a lot of that will be trimmed, and we are still working out at least 2 major sequences for the film. Whether or not we release the actual feature length, or extended version of the fan film remains to be seen. A lot will depend on the response to the trailer. It's likely we would release a 45 min version, 1 hour version, or my suggestion, turn it into 5 - 10 minute episodes-of-sort. Released every week for a month. The film has been in production for 4 years... Filmed in-between other paying projects that I was working on. It was all shot on Sony DV, with the VX2000 cameras. The film is actually titled "Darkman 5: The Assassin Agenda".. There is a very funny reason for that. Back in 1996 we shot a video called Darkman 4: My Dinner with Durant, and this was meant to be the direct sequel to that fan film. Darkman 4 is a 15 minute fan film, shot on Super VHS, that will defiantly be making an appearance alongside Darkman 5. Before the release of the fan film, I hope to post some production diaries on the film. Am I worried about copyright issues with Universal Pictures, or Sam Raimi? Ummm... not really. Our Darkman is somewhat of a parody of the original films, making light of the style of acting from the films. I'm very concerned as to what the fan reaction of the fan film will be, therefore reaction to the trailers will be the deciding factor to whether or not a longer version of the fan film ever makes it to the internet. Please check out my friend's Myspace page for some pictures. Yes, Durant is a skinny guy with blond hair... I hope the fans can accept that. www.myspace.com/jeff_miller If you have questions, or would like to know more, or see more pictures, please feel free to write me at manbat25@aol.com or post a reply here.
